IYALAJE OODUA | PRINCESS (DR.) TOYIN KOLADE

Business magnate with an unmatched entrepreneurial spirit, a front liner in the Nigerian Maritime industry, Princess (Dr.) Toyin Kolade, Chief Executive Officer of Fisolak Global Resources and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Rashkol International Logistic Ltd spreads her business tentacles across several chains of business from pharmaceutical products, manufacturing, furniture, oil and gas, imports, exports, clearing and forwarding to mention a few.

The top socialite, philanthropist and quintessential cultural ambassador even before the spotlight shone had been working tirelessly serving humanity behind the scenes empowering women and youths via sponsorships and skill acquisition programmes.

Born into the royal family of Atakumose; she spent her formative years in Ilesha, Osun State. Not sitting pretty but carving the desired life through hard work and a positive outlook were life lessons that helped shaped her future raising her to an enviable height.

Ever inquisitive, Resilient, hardworking and business-oriented, the entrepreneur credits her mom, Madam Comfort Adejuyigbe (Iya Alaiyeure) a super successful business woman at the time, for being her greatest Influence. Her mom who lived a noteworthy life passed on at the ripe old age of 92, on 17th October 2016. Through her, Princess Toyin had a very first taste of business mentorship, assisting her mum at the popular Arigbajo market in Ijesha. When schools were on holiday, Princess Toyin would use that opportunity to buy goods from northern markets, transport them to Ilesha and sell.

Before age 21, then an anonymous name in the business terrain, Princess Kolade had clearly found her path, boasting of almost 5million in her savings account. But, foresight had always been her strength, she knew in order to truly consolidate success, a university education was key. So regardless of how much wealth she had amassed, she did the needful, returned to school at the prestigious University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University. Even while in school, she still kept hustling.

1996 saw the emergence of her business conglomerate, parent company, Fisolak Global Resources, Ltd, Apapa, Lagos, which specializes in multipurpose furniture manufacturing birthed other business chains.

Today, Princess (Dr.) Toyin Kolade, the ‘Iyalaje Oodua’, through passion, sheer determination, hard work and selflessness she has earned a place amongst the most inspiring female figures in Nigeria.

Two People, One Soul.

With the popular axiom which says; ‘Like-minds attract’, this is aptly correct. While many marriages will have been painfully cut short in their prime, thankfully, power couple Prince Kayode and Toyin Kolade hit the mark in the happily-ever-after zone, with their union waxing stronger serving as a point of reference to many aspiring couples.

Prince Kayode, a core hard worker, Deputy Comptroller of the Nigerian Customs Services and his ever industrious wife Princess Toyin Kolade met in the church over two decades ago and for them, it was love at first sight. The pair have been blissfully married for decades with grown-up children, yet amazingly, the love they share is still evidently still blazing hot, never failing to spoil each other silly and celebrate one another in the presence of others. “My home is my first priority”. As Princess Toyin fondly says.

A woman well cultured and tutored in line with the core Omoluwabi values of Yoruba tradition; she still kneels down to serve her husband’s meal and will never allow a chef to make her husband’s meal. She understands that; the secret of every successful union is paying detailed attention and respecting your partner.
